| Quesnel, BC, Canada - September 16, 2009 Richfield Ventures Corp. ("Richfield" or "the Company") is pleased to announce assay results for the first two of 15 diamond drill holes of its fall program on the Blackwater-Davidson property located in the Nechako Plateau of Central BC. The property is under option from Silver Quest Resources Ltd. The first two vertical holes, BW 42 and BW 43, were drilled vertically to depths of 254.2 metres and 307.5 metres respectively, and tested the central Gold Zone. They were sited to substantiate precious metal grades reported in previous shallow drilling and to test the continuity of mineralization to depth. Drilling of the Gold Zone by previous operators reported intersections of 6.3 metres grading 14.28 g/t Au and 26.7 g/t Ag, and 82.3 metres grading 2.44 g/t Au. A number of holes were terminated in mineralization at depths of approximately 130 metres (NR March 23, 2009 through September 3, 2009; company website www.richfieldventures.ca). BW 42 intersected gold and silver values from 62 metres to 160 m, averaging 1.25 g/t Au and 4.80 g/t Ag over the 98 metre interval, including a 14 metre segment averaging 6.66 g/t Au and 17.10 g/t Ag (averages reported are length weighted; widths reported are drill widths).
BW 43 is located approximately 93 metres south-southwest of BW 42, also in the central Gold Zone. The hole intersected sections of gold and silver values from the bedrock interface to the bottom of the hole. The upper 152 metre interval averages 0.77 g/t Au and 5.00 g/t Ag including an 85 metre interval that averages 0.92 g/t Au and 6.70 g/t Ag and a 3 metre interval averaging 6.9 g/t Au and 19.1 g/t Ag. A lower 42 metre interval averages 0.77 g/t Au and 3.2 g/t Ag, including a 5 metre interval averaging 1.89 g/t Au and 8.30 g/t Ag.
The Richfield drilling in BW 42 and BW 43 confirms the previously reported historic results and in addition demonstrates continuity of the mineralization to depth. Highly silicified and argillically altered breccia and microbreccia with 1 or 2 % widely disseminated pyrite and sphalerite are the dominant rocks intersected in both holes. Brecciation, silicification and clay alteration are so intense that the original rock type is obscure; these events occurred together and repeatedly and have prepared a large volume of rock for precious metals. A roughly circular area of at least 45 hectares, estimated from known drill intersections and outcrop, is thought to be underlain by the well prepared siliceous breccia. From the drilling it appears that precious metal mineralization is widely dispersed in silicified breccia and not controlled by shear zones or fractures. A bulk gold model for the mineralization is considered appropriate. Quality assurance Richfield has implemented a rigorous quality assurance/quality control program at the Blackwater property using best industry practice and supervised by Dirk Tempelman-Kluit. The program includes: chain of custody of samples from drill to laboratory. Drill core is sawn in half at the property and for each sample half of the core from one metre intervals is placed in plastic bags and sealed. A standard sample supplied by an outside independent laboratory, a blank sample or a duplicate sample were inserted into the sample stream every tenth sample. Samples including the blanks and standards, were shipped by courier to Eco Tech Stewart Group Laboratories in Kamloops, B.C. Duplicate samples were shipped by courier to Acme Laboratories, Vancouver for analysis.
