Dr. Gerald G. Carlson - Ph.D., P.Geo

Dr. Gerry Carlson has been involved in mineral exploration and exploration company management for over 30 years. Prior to forming Copper Ridge in 1999, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of La Teko Resources Ltd., a position he held until the acquisition of La Teko by Kinross in February, 1999. Prior to that, he was President of ConSil Corp. (June 1995 to November 1996) and Vice-President, Exploration, for Dentonia Resources Ltd. (February 1994 to May 1995). These positions included management of exploration activities from Alaska to Mexico and the Northwest Territories. Mr. Carlson's educational background includes a B.A.Sc. from University of Toronto in Geological Engineering and graduate studies in Economic Geology including a M.Sc. from Michigan Technological University and Ph.D. from Dartmouth College. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Almaden Minerals Ltd., Amera Resources Corporation, Golden Aria Corp. and Tarsis Capital Corp. Mr. Carlson is the President of the Society of Economic Geologists Canada Foundation, a past President of AME BC (formerly the British Columbia and Yukon Chamber of Mines) and, in 2003, was awarded the CIM's J.C. Sproule Award in recognition of his contributions to mineral exploration in Canada's north.
